Welcome to my Alfa Carabo Page. Come inside. I'll get you a drink. I used to get a toy car every time we went to Dart Drug. They had a display with a bunch of Matchbox cars. My favorite was my bright pink with yellow and green stripes Alfa Carabo. My second favorite was my bright red with green and yellow stripes Alfa Carabo. That fueled my obsession which I didn't capitalize on for almost fifty years - until this year (2021). Later this year, I started collecting other cars again. My Alfa Carabo is the main part of my car collection. I feature it here separately. I'll have a section for my other cars later and on a separate set of pages. Right below is the most recent picture of my collection. 50 cars.
The first two cars in my Carabo collection are Matchbox brand (now owned by Mattel who bought it from Tyco Toys) that I have had for almost fifty years and I told you about earlier. I had thought about getting a few more for many years. I knew there were a few more colors of Matchbox. I didn't know about the other brands. I didn't know that this was a celebrated car, both the die-cast metal toy and the real life one. I thought it was just me who liked the Alfa Carabo. I am not a car person per say. I like the toy ones. The bright pink Alfa Carabo with stripes is my favorite of all of my toy cars - five decades back and today. It is the leader of my Carabos. It's a female leader too. I am ahead of the times. Here's a picture of the pair below.

Here are my first two Alfa Carabos. They show a little bit of play wear.
Alfa Carabo is famous for being a wedge shaped car, but I never thought of or heard of that until earlier this year (2021). I am in my own world sometimes. But now I am in touch. I am one with the Carabos.
Having said that, I don't love them all equally. They aint like children. You can like one more than the other. Personally, I like the Matchbox version better than the Hot Wheels version. It is longer and slimmer. I also like the Playart version. I never heard of Playart before this year (2021). Those are the small ones with the silver piece on back. They don't come up on ebay enough. The ones that are on there for any length of time have something wrong with them. Usually they are missing the silver back plate. For some reason, this is much more common for Playart Carabos than for other brands.
This page is a work in progress, just like much of the rest of this site. Right now I have this introductory page and my page with a picture of each of my Carabos finished. The rest will be done later. I will have more pictures of my individual cars as well as pictures of my cars sorted by brand. There are about two dozen brands of Alfa Carabo. Right now, I have a cars from a dozen of them. (DEC 2021)
Some Alfa Carabos all called Carabo Bertone. I have no idea what the heck that is supposed to mean. When I give you the pop quiz on what you learned from this site, that won't be on it.
